The"X" axis co-ordinates appear alongthe } top of the chart and the "Y"and "Z" axis co-ordinates appearalong the right side of the chart,the "Y" co-ordinates being }on theoutside. For example, you beginyour mission in the same quadrantin which Starfleet Headquarters islocated, i.e. qua }drant 7,7,2 [X=7,Y=7, Z=2]. Note that the currentposition of the Enterprise isalways shown in the chart's centre.In the }three dimensional knownuniverse the co-ordinate pointsalong the "X" and "Y" axes run from"0" to "7". The co-ordinate point }salong the "Z" axis run from "0" to"2". NOTE: Any co-ordinate pointoutside of these values lies beyondthe known universe }and is NOTaccessible to the Enterprise. Forexample, the Enterprise could notenter quadrants <8>,7,2 or 7,7,<3>or 7,<-1>,1 }. The ships computerwould not accept the co-ordinatevalues that are high lighted andyou would be prompted for anotherinpu }t of co-ordinate values!Enter your destination quadrantusing the coordinate settings. SetWarp power (0-8) depending upon }thedistance you have to traverse. Thegreater the Warp power, the greaterthe energy used. A sector (grid) map ofthe quadr }ant will be displayedshowing the position of theEnterprise in relation to otherscanned objects. (Scanned objectsmay be id }entified using the ScienceComputer.)IMPULSE ENGINE:Having noted the direction you wishthe Enterprise to travel within t }hequadrant and the number of gridsectors you wish to traverse,return to the main menu and select"IMPULSE ENGINES". } 3 2 1 \ | / \|/ 4---+---8 [or 0] /|\ / | !} \ 5 6 7Enter one of the above numbers[DIRECTIONAL HEADINGS] to indicatethe direction you desire theEnte "}rprise to travel within thequadrant while using the ImpulseEngines. Enter the speed value,noting that each unit of speede #}nables the ship to traverse onegrid sector of the quadrant.PHOTON TORPEDO:Photon Torpedos are your mostpowerful weapon. $} Select PhotonTorpedo from the main menu and thenenter one of the above numbers[DIRECTIONAL HEADINGS] to indicatethe dire %}ction you desire the PhotonTorpedo to be fired. Note: TheEnterprise must be in a direct linewith the target object in orde &}r forthe torpedo to be effective.Note: Phasors are aimed by theship's computer after you supplythe power setting. '} TO DOCK/ORBIT -------------To DOCK with the Star Bases or toORBIT Planets, etc., navigate theEnterprise t (}o the grid sectoradjacent to the object and then gointo an ORBIT by using your ImpulseEngines at a very low power setting )}[eg. only 0.1 to 0.5 power units]while navigating toward the object.NOTE: You must orbit/dock with your Star Bases i *}n order to obtain additional fuel and torpedo supplies.NOTE: You must orbit Planets in order to explore t +}hem, but be alert!IMPORTANT: Do not dock at StarfleetHeadquarters unless you are endingyour mission, or unless you ,}havebeen summoned by the StarfleetCommand. Doing so will TERMINATEthe mission at once!. FROM STARFLEET COMMAND -} -----------------------Do not fire at unhostile Planets or at your own Star Bases or you will be immediately relieved .}of your command.-Avoid regions containing the deadly PULSARS, BLACK HOLES, NOISE, etc. Be careful and alert as to which /} region you are warping, as you could destroy both yourself and the Enterprise.-Be cautious and use your scanners and sh 0}ips computers to gain as much knowledge of the unknown as you can.
